CAQH setup

CAQH setup for therapists who need payer-ready profiles.

A clean CAQH ProView profile is the foundation for many payer enrollment workflows. GetPaneled helps complete the provider profile, align the details with your practice setup, upload required documents, and make sure payer authorization settings are ready before insurance panel applications start.

What gets set up

CAQH delays usually come from missing sections, stale attestations, inconsistent practice details, expired documents, unsupported work-history gaps, or documents that do not match the payer application. GetPaneled focuses on making the profile complete, current, and usable before payer submissions start.

  • NPI Type 1 review or registration support
  • NPI Type 2 setup guidance when needed
  • Practice, license, malpractice, education, and work history sections
  • Document uploads for license, malpractice COI, CV, W-9, and education verification
  • Payer authorization settings
  • Final attestation support

Why CAQH matters for credentialing

Many commercial payers use CAQH as the source of truth during credentialing. If the provider profile is incomplete, not attested, not authorized for a payer, or inconsistent with the application, the enrollment can stall even when the payer forms were submitted on time.

Specific CAQH fields that affect payer review

The setup work checks the details payers commonly compare across systems: legal name, NPI, taxonomy, license, malpractice coverage, practice address, mailing address, tax information, education, work history, disclosure questions, supporting documents, and payer access permissions.

CAQH is not the same as payer approval

A complete CAQH profile makes payer review possible, but it does not enroll a therapist by itself. Payers still need applications, network review, supplemental forms, contracting steps, and final effective-date confirmation before the therapist should bill as an in-network provider.

When CAQH setup is useful by itself

Standalone CAQH setup is useful before you select payers, when an old profile needs cleanup, when a provider is moving from an employer or group practice into private practice, when a group needs cleaner provider records before provider adds, or when documents and practice details need to be standardized before payer enrollment starts.

Standalone or included with enrollment

CAQH + NPI setup is available as a standalone package if you are preparing before choosing payers. It is also included with payer enrollment, Launch Bundle, Full Panel Bundle, and Multi-State Full Panel packages.

Common questions

Do therapists need CAQH to get paneled?

Most commercial insurance credentialing workflows use CAQH or require the same information CAQH stores. Having a complete, attested profile helps payer applications move more cleanly.

What information is included in CAQH setup for therapists?

CAQH setup typically includes provider demographics, NPI details, license information, malpractice coverage, education, work history, practice locations, tax details, disclosure questions, document uploads, payer authorizations, and attestation.

Can GetPaneled create a new CAQH profile?

Yes. GetPaneled can help create and complete a new CAQH profile or update an existing profile so it is ready for payer enrollment.

Does CAQH setup submit applications to insurance companies?

Not by itself. CAQH setup prepares the payer-ready provider profile. Payer enrollment is the separate step where applications, supplemental forms, follow-up, and effective-date confirmation are handled with each insurance company.

What CAQH problems commonly delay therapist credentialing?

Common problems include expired malpractice documents, unmatched practice addresses, missing work history, incomplete education or license details, unanswered disclosure questions, stale attestations, and payer authorization settings that prevent a payer from accessing the profile.

Can GetPaneled clean up an existing CAQH profile?

Yes. GetPaneled can review an existing profile for missing or inconsistent information, update documents, align provider and practice details, and prepare the profile for payer enrollment.

Is CAQH setup included with payer enrollment?

Yes. CAQH + NPI setup is included with GetPaneled payer enrollment packages. The standalone CAQH package is for therapists who want the profile prepared before choosing payers.

How often does CAQH need to be attested?

CAQH profiles need periodic attestation and should be updated whenever license, malpractice, practice, tax, or contact details change. Current CAQH data helps reduce avoidable payer follow-up during credentialing.
